Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) often referred to by her real title Ari Lennox is an American music producer and performer born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be contracted to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. She dropped her debut EP on the label on October 21 of 2016, entitled Pho, and she was able to begin gaining attention. Shea Butter Baby, her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music via the internet in 2012 when she dropped her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release additional music on the internet including Bound. In 2015she sung in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album in the track Sweat It Out 21st July. J. Cole, who was a part of the Dreamville crew back then and wanted her to create Rihanna references. She was officially signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II her appearance was made on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. She dropped Pho, her debut EP, on October 21 on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song. She also performed at the opening of with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas as her labelmates. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video which debuted on the 5th of September. In November, she released singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On the 13th of November she released two more singles called The No One and Pedigree. Then she appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26 2019 for her debut album the same title. The track was supported by a music video on February 20, 2019, which surpassed 3 million views via YouTube within just a week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
